Hearn sets course record at Whitehall

David Hearn set a course record and led the Emmaus boys cross country team to three wins during a meet hosted by Whitehall last week.

Hearn finished in 16:01 to break a course record set last year by former EHS teammate Ryan Fach, who ran his record time during his senior season last fall.

Hearn led a group of three Hornets across the finish line as Roen Woolf took second and Michael Carwell was third. Mason Hipp (fifth) and Luke Harris (sixth) made up the remainder of the Emmaus team score.

The Hornets earned wins over Liberty, Bethlehem Catholic and Freedom by 15-50 scores.

In the girls meet, where Liberty’s Elizabeth McLarin took first place in a course record time of 19:05, the Hornet girls team went 2-1. Emmaus beat Bethlehem Catholic 15-50 and held off Freedom, 20-43. Liberty handed the Hornets their first loss of the season, 29-30.

Grace Nosal led Emmaus with a fifth-place overall finish, followed by teammates Samantha Reidnauer (sixth), Aubrey Kazmierczak (seventh), Myla Felegy (eighth) and Clara Baker (21:18)

The Emmaus boys team improved to 12-0 with the win, while the Hornet girls heads into the final week of the regular season at 11-1.

Parkland and Emmaus are the last remaining unbeaten boys team in the EPC. The Trojans are also the only remaining girls team without a loss heading into this week’s showdown with Emmaus.
