FARMSTAND OF THE WEEK

This weekend I visited Jaime from Haas Produce.

Jaime is the fifth generation of the Haas family who have grown crops on the property.

Her father Donald purchased the farm after her grandparents passed in 2000.

Jaime’s parents ran a farm stand at the Pennsylvania Turnpike Allentown Rest Stop until COVID hit and it was shut down.

They took a few years off and decided to start a farm stand at the back of the property last year.

It was just a wagon the first year and they have since upgraded to a building.

They grow the vegetables on the property, something Jaime has always loved, and the fruit comes from local orchards.

The farm stand opens in June and their last day is Nov. 1.

The farm stand has summer hours of Wednesday-Sunday 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and then starting Oct. 1 they are open Thursday-Sunday 10 a.m.-6 p.m.

The stand is located at 2611 North Lane in Orefield. They accept cash and cards.

This will be my last farm stand article for 2026 as the season is coming to an end but I have greatly enjoyed meeting and interviewing all the stand owners.

We are so lucky to have access to so many local products in our area!

I am hoping to be able to do this again next year since there are so many stands that I still have not visited.
