Hereford motorcyclist fatally injured in crash in Lower Milford Township Aug. 30

A motorcyclist was fatally injured when he attempted to pass a vehicle while the vehicle was turning in a crash along Beverly Hills Road in Lower Milford Township Aug. 30, according to press releases from the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office and Forensic Center and Pennsylvania State Police.

Michael A. Silvers, 44, of Hereford, was pronounced dead 1:47 p.m. at the crash scene near the intersection of Beverly Hills Road and Sheridan Road, according to authorities.

Pennsylvania State Police detailed the crash as follows:

A motorcycle and a sedan were eastbound on Beverly Hills Road. The motorcycle, driven by Silvers, was behind the sedan and attempted to pass the sedan on the left side.

“As the sedan attempted a left turn the motorcycle struck the left side of the vehicle” at approximately 12:49 p.m.

Silvers was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, according to the press release from Lehigh County Coroner Daniel A. Buglio.

The cause of death was determined to be blunt force trauma to the head.

Investigators determined the manner of death to be an accident.

“There were no injuries to the occupants of the sedan,” according to state police.

The crash investigation closed the road until approximately 4 p.m.

Crews from Upper Saucon EMS, Lower Milford Township Fire Company and Vera Cruz/Citizens Fire Company, Upper Milford Township, also responded.
