Coplay Saengerbund, 205 S. Fifth St., has scheduled its Friday night concerts. The upcoming lineup is Common Bond Sept. 11, Sons of Izzy Sept. 18 and Stereotype Sept. 25.

The gate opens 5 p.m., and the kitchen will open 5:30 p.m. The band plays until 10 p.m.

The Saengerbund’s heritage committee is hosting the club’s annual Oktoberfest Sept. 13. The opening parade starts 2:30 p.m.

The Josef Kroboth Band performs 3-6 p.m. There will be entertainment by the Auerhahn Schuhplattler Dancers, an Oktoberfest sing-a-long, button box committee and the Masskrugstemmen, a Bavarian feat of strength event.

The event will feature imported German beer and food.

Wear your German outfits, including dirndl, lederhosen, vests, hats, etc.

There is a cost, and it is open to the public.

The Ironton Rail Trail 25th anniversary 10-K run is set for Sept. 13 at Coplay Parkway, 245 N. Second St. Walkers start 8:30 a.m., and runners start 9 a.m. Sign up at runsignup.com.

St. John’s Lutheran Church, 18 S. Third St., is planning a pickup pork and sauerkraut dinner 4-5:30 p.m. Sept. 26.

The deadline to order is Sept. 18.

The menu includes pork and sauerkraut, mashed potatoes, green beans, applesauce, roll and dessert.

St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, 4 S. Fifth St., is holding a bingo afternoon Sept. 27. Doors open noon.

Proceeds will benefit the church to help fund its 100th anniversary celebration in 2027. More information is coming.

Whitehall Lions Club’s cash bingo is set for Oct. 4 at St. Peter Roman Catholic Church. The jackpot is $200.

There will be bingo cards and five paper specials. Bingo chips, dabbers and food will be available for purchase.

There also is a basket social and a 50-25-25 cash drawing.

All proceeds benefit Whitehall-Coplay Hunger Initiative. Bring a canned or boxed food to donate.

The mayor’s office is seeking Coplay residents interested in developing and leading a Coplay town watch. Training will be provided in crime watching and activities to increase the safety of the borough.

Coplay Food Bank, in the municipal building, is open 8:30-10 a.m. the second Tuesday of every month.

If unable to attend the scheduled Tuesday morning time frame, call Jodi at 610-262-0928 to make other arrangements.

The food bank needs coffee, spaghetti sauce and noodles, canned pasta, rice pouches and non-sweetened dry cereals. Monetary donations are always accepted.
