Summer concerts are back!
Island Time, playing Jimmy Buffett style music, has been rescheduled for 6 p.m. Aug. 21 at the Hills at Lockridge Park Bandshell, 7125 Scenic View Drive, Macungie.
The Parkland Art League will host a Pop-Up Art Show and Sale 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 29 at Kalmbach Memorial Park in Macungie.
The Lower Macungie Library has partnered with Plant a Row Lehigh to collect fresh produce for Casa Guadalupe in Allentown. Donations are accepted Mondays and Tuesdays 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. through Oct. 8 and can be placed in a cooler inside the library.
Lower Macungie Library hours are 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday. The library will be closed Sept. 5 and 7 for Labor Day.
A new program, Veterans Lounge, will meet 1-3 p.m. Aug. 19 and Sept. 16 for veterans to connect with other veterans.
LML Afternoon Book Club will meet 1-2:30 p.m. Aug. 20 to discuss “Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine” by Gail Honeyman. The book for Sept. 17 is “Miss Morgan’s Book Brigade.” The book club meets at the library.
The Art of Conversation Café for adults will meet 10 a.m. to noon Aug. 21. This will be a relaxed environment to discuss ideas, play games or do crafts. Hot beverages will be provided.
There will be Sensory Coloring and Crafting for Adults 11 a.m. to noon Aug. 25 and Sept. 22.
Fun, Friendship, and Fiber Arts (for adults) will meet 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Aug. 28 and Sept. 4 and 25. Bring your projects and make friends and share ideas.
There will be a Hobby Happy Hour for adults 5-7 p.m. Aug. 31. This is a new social time for hobbies, mocktails, snacks and music.
There will be a Sensory Movie Matinee for adults with disabilities and their caregivers 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 1 and 15.
The Lower Macungie Library Book Club book for 10:30 a.m. to noon Sept. 2 will be “The Book Club for Troublesome Women” by Marie Bostwick. The book club meets virtually.
Authors Francine and Marianne will speak about their book on parenting from birth to 18 months 6 p.m. Sept. 2 and 10 a.m. Sept. 4. Parents are welcome to bring their children; a play area will be available.

Friends of the Lower Macungie Library will be accepting book donations 1-3 p.m. Oct. 31, Nov. 7 and 14 at the Friends Shed in the parking lot.
Lower Macungie Pool hours are noon to 7 p.m. through Aug. 23. The pool will be closed Aug. 24-28 and Aug. 31-Sept. 4 due to staffing issues. It will reopen noon to 7 p.m. Aug. 29-30 and Sept. 5-7. There will be a Back-to-School Luau 1-4 p.m. Aug. 22 with a giant inflatable slide, food truck and music.

Lower Lehigh AARP will not meet during the summer. Their next meeting is noon Oct. 8 in the lower level of Macungie Memorial Hall at Macungie Memorial Park.
The Alburtis Seniors will not meet in August.

Yard waste center hours through Oct. 31 are 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Friday and Saturday and noon to 7 p.m. Sunday. Yard waste permits are required for drop-off. The center is located at 5536 Indian Creek Road, Macungie.
Weekly curbside collection of grass clippings takes place the same day as trash collection. Yard waste collection is every other week on Aug. 31 and Sept. 14 and 28.
