Egypt/Cementon: VFW August concerts planned
Chill out with concerts by Last Band Standing Aug. 15, Ricky Smith and the Crush Aug. 22 and Alias Aug. 29 at Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7293, 5209 Springmill Road. Concerts begin 7 p.m.
Stop by and savor the sound of Steel City Rewind 3 p.m. Aug. 16.

The township’s 2026 summer concert series continues at Whitehall Parkway, 4689 S. Church St. The lineup includes Toolshed Jack Aug. 15. The concerts are held 6-9 p.m. and are free of charge.
Food and beverages will be available for purchase. Bring lawn chairs or a blanket.

Registration is open for Triboro Soccer Club’s U6 intramural program. Children born between Aug. 1, 2020, and July 31, 2022, are encouraged to register by Aug. 15.
Practices and games are held 6-7 p.m. Wednesdays and 10-11 a.m. Saturdays in September and October at Cementon Park, 5185 Dewey St.

Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, 4331 Main St., Egypt, will be holding a Blessing of the Backpacks during the 9 a.m. Aug. 30 service.
There will be a Blessing of the Pets service on the church lawn 9 a.m. Sept. 6. All friendly animals are welcome, provided they are leashed, harnessed, bridled or crated.
In case of inclement weather, the service will be in the fellowship hall.

The I Grew Up in Egypt PA Facebook group announced a reunion for 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Sept. 26 at Egypt Memorial Park, Hillcrest Lane and Curt Simmons Drive. Registration for the event is available on the group’s Facebook page.

Aerobistix fitness classes will continue 6:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesdays through September at the pavilion at Egypt Memorial Park. Bring water and a mat.

The youth group of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church is accepting new or used books, puzzles, games, CDs, DVDs and vinyl records for a used book sale fundraiser planned for fall 2027.
Donated items must be free of mold and mildew. The group cannot accept textbooks, technical manuals, encyclopedias, reference books, medical books, VHS or cassette tapes or magazines. Drop off your items in the enclosed porch at the back of the church.
