Bethlehem’s basketball teams took part in the annual A-Town Throwdown over the weekend at Cedar Beach, with Liberty, Bethlehem Catholic and Freedom getting a look at what they have in the boys division.

Freedom dropped a pair of games, falling to Salisbury 30-24 before suffering a 49-23 loss to Octorara.

Liberty was involved in two close contests, opening with a 42-28 setback to West York before dropping a hard-fought, 37-35 double-overtime loss to Harrisburg.

Bethlehem Catholic also came up just short in both of its games, losing to Wilson West Lawn 35-22 and falling 46-45 to Northwestern Lehigh in one of the tournament’s closest matchups.

In the championship games, Malvern Prep claimed the boys title with a 51-42 victory over Lower Merion, while Bensalem captured the girls championship by defeating Emmaus 24-18.
