Fire Dept. selling hoagies, ice cream
Weisenberg Volunteer Fire Department, 2500 Golden Key Road, Kutztown, will be accepting orders online for their hoagie sale until Sept. 21.
Choose between Italian, with onions and peppers, or onion and no peppers or peppers and no onions or no onions or peppers; ham and American cheese; turkey; roast beef or tuna salad.
Ingredients supplied by Thomson’s Meat Market, Walnutport.
In addition to hoagies, they are offering four fun Nesting Box Creamery ice cream sandwiches.
Flavors include Mocha with Oreo wafer, Mint with Oreo wafer, Classic Vanilla with chocolate wafer and Classic Vanilla with Chocolate Chip Cookie.
They also still have a few Challenge Coins and 20th Anniversary mugs available for purchase online at http://weisenberg-volunteer-fire-department.square.site/ until Sept. 28.
Pick up will take place 2-6 p.m. Oct. 1 at the fire station.

Morgenland Church, 3120 Weidasville Road, Orefield, (Leather Corner Post), will hold its annual fall picnic 4-8 p.m. Sept. 26.
There will be live music by “Midnight Special” from 5-8 p.m.
They will also have great food, baked goods, basket raffle and a cake walk. The rain date is 2-6 p.m. Sept. 27.
The church will be accepting orders until Oct. 4 for their hoagie sale.

They will also be accepting orders until Oct. 22 for their Kauffman’s Chicken Barbecue.
The meal will include half a chicken, baked potato, applesauce and roll.
They will also be selling apple dumpling with or without syrup.
Pickup will take place 3-5 p.m. Oct. 31.

The church will be holding its legendary all-you-can-eat spaghetti and meatball dinner from 4-7 p.m. Nov. 7.
The meal includes two huge homemade meatballs, a salad, drink and homemade dessert.
Take out is also available. Tickets are available at the door.
There is a cost for adults and children 5-12 years old. Children 4-years-old and under are free.
Handicap accessible if needed at end of church, lower level.
They will also be having a basket raffle.

Weisenberg Lowhill Township Historical Society will present its Farmers Market and Artisan Fair 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 19 at 4585 Werley’s Corner Road, New Tripoli.
There will also be a yard and bake sale.
They are seeking bakers for their bake sale.

Christ’s Church at Lowhill, 4695 Lowhill Church Road, New Tripoli, will be open 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Oct. 3 and 4 with a display of the church’s historical artifacts in celebration of the Allemaengel 250th.
This event is open to the community.

Lynn-Heidelberg Historical Society will be holding its Pioneer Apple Fest 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 3 at Ontelaunee Park, New Tripoli.
There will be an apple pie contest, vendors, pioneer era demonstrations and more.

Zions Union Church Maxatawny, 329 Church Road, Kutztown, will be holding its Apple Dumpling Festival 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 10.
The church has filled its craft spaces already and secured The Perk-up Truck, and Top of the Hill Grill.
They are seeking gift baskets/items for the basket raffle, and donations of desserts to sell at the dessert table.
There are order forms for dumplings available in the Gathering Area if you would like to ask friends, neighbors, and coworkers to order.

Paint either “Joy” stencil or your own creative masterpiece that you can hang.
