Student accomplishments and staff service were highlighted during the Salisbury Township School Board’s June 17 meeting.
A slideshow showcased achievements across athletics and academics, including successes in field hockey, wrestling, swimming, diving and lacrosse, along with honors in debate, the Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science and a Freddy Awards nomination.
The board also recognized the retirements of instructional assistant Donita Marze, science teachers Gary Schweyer and Susan Wilson and school nurse Christine Tripp. Marze and Wilson attended the meeting and were honored with proclamations.
Superintendent Lynn Fuini-Hetten praised Marze’s patience and dedication, noting her ability to remain positive in challenging situations. A district donation was made in her name to the Coalition for Appropriate Transportation in honor of her brother.
Salisbury High School Assistant Principal Jane Brennan recognized Wilson’s 31-year teaching career, highlighting her commitment to student achievement and her work providing educational travel opportunities for students. Board members thanked all retirees for their years of service and contributions to the district.
