Student in business honors program

Benjamin D. Blum of Bethlehem is among the 32 members of The University of Scranton’s Class of 2029 who enrolled in its prestigious Frank P. Corcione Business Honors Program, one of the University’s five programs of excellence.

Students in this program complete four years of honors studies in economics, entrepreneurship, operations management, accounting, finance, international business, marketing and management, as well as a series of personal development extracurricular activities in service and career building.

Blum is a finance major at Scranton.

Resident in Muhlenberg production

Samantha Marrero of Bethlehem took part in the theatre production of “Everybody” at Muhlenberg College this spring. A graduate of Freedom HS, Marrero performed the duties of Captioner while studying psychology and theatre as a member of the Class of 2028 at Muhlenberg.

Local residents attend Yale conference

Nakeem Facey of Fountain Hill and Amiah Riddick of Bethlehem were among seventeen students from East Stroudsburg University’s Black Student Union (BSU) who traveled to Yale University recently to attend the 2026 Black Solidarity Conference, the largest undergraduate conference hosted at Yale and the longest-running, Black-led Ivy League conference in the country.

Residents honored for academics, service

Two Bethlehem area Lebanon Valley University students were selected for Phi Alpha Epsilon, the College’s honor society that recognizes academic achievement and service to others.

Local students are Abriana Ferrari, a homeschooled graduate pursuing a bachelor of science in biochemistry and molecular biology, and Lauren Jancsarics, a Freedom HS graduate, pursuing a bachelor of science and doctor of physical therapy in exercise science and physical therapy.

Flagler graduate

Flagler College will celebrate the academic and personal accomplishments of Emma Kichline, from Bethlehem, and more than 600 graduates from the Class of 2026.

Kichline was honored with a bachelor of arts in digital media production and journalism .

Student on So. New Hampsire’s Dean’s List

Bethlehem resident Alejandra Calderon has been named to Southern New Hampshire University’s Spring 2026 Dean’s List. The spring terms run from January to May.

Local students named to the president’s list are Yessenia Melendez, Kailee Galarza, Brandon Salter, Anddy Lizardo, Maribel Jaime, Nicohlas Olive, Leia Cottrell of Bethlehem, Eleni Luciano, Jocelyn Blessing and Ashley Tatarsky.

Local residents complete student teaching

Several Bethlehem residents were among the over 200 future educators from East Stroudsburg University’s College of Education gaining hands-on experience through field experience and student teaching during the spring 2026 academic semester.

Alexander Roberts, a Health & Physical Education major worked in Pleasant Valley School District and East Stroudsburg School District.

Zachary McKinney, a Health & Physical Education major worked in Bethlehem School District and Wilson School District.

Lei Carr, a Early Child Educ (PreK-4) major worked in Bethlehem School District.

Stacy Hutchinson, a Special and Early Childhood ED major of Bethlehem (18017), PA, worked in Southern Lehigh School District.

Olivia Zemenak, a Special and Early Childhood ED major worked in Bethlehem School District.

Sakura Shinjo, a Profesional Secondary - French - grad major also completed training.

Brimer on Cedarville University Dean’s List

Naomi Brimer of Bethlehem, was named to the Dean’s Honor List at Cedarville University for Spring 2026. This recognition requires the student to obtain a 3.75 GPA or higher for the semester and carry a minimum of 12 credit hours.

Fyrer on Belmont University Dean’s List

Bethlehem resident Brett Fyrer is among the dean’s List students at Belmont University.

Dean’s List eligibility is based on a minimum course load of 12 hours and a quality grade point average of 3.5 with no grade below a C.

Chapman elected to Phi Kappa Phi

Ciara Chapman of Bethelem was recently elected to membership into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest and most selective all-discipline collegiate honor society, at North Carolina A&T State University.

Area residents Lebanon Valley graduates

Several Bethlehem residents were among the 393 students in the Lebanon Valley College Class of 2026 celebrating their educational and personal accomplishments during Commencement Ceremonies recently.

Freedom HS graduate Lauren Jancsarics received a bachelor of science in exercise science. Jancsarics will continue at LVC to pursue a doctor of physical therapy in physical therapy. Jancsarics received the following honor(s): summa cum laude.

Liberty HS graduates Chardae Stone received a master of athletic training in athletic training and Benjamin Wagner received a bachelor of science in business administration.

Abriana Ferrari of Bethlehem received a bachelor of science in biochemistry and molecular biology. Ferrari received the following honor(s): summa cum laude. Ferrari is a homeschool graduate.
