LV Charter HS for the Arts ‘9 to 5’ a beacon of empowerment

The Lehigh Valley Charter HS for the Arts Production Arts Department presented the hit musical “9 to 5” this spring. The production received rave reviews for its powerful performances, dynamic choreography and seamless integration of music and design.

Based on the 20th Century Fox film and featuring iconic music and lyrics by Dolly Parton, with book by Patricia Resnick, “9 to 5” tells the story of three unlikely office friends who use their wit, creativity, and camaraderie to transform a stifling workplace into a beacon of empowerment.

The production was led by director Kelly Minner-Bickert, choreographer Jennifer Weaver music director Erica Dickson and technical director Ellen Schmoyer. Orchestral conductor was Joseph Bucci. Design credits include scenic and lighting design by Ellen Schmoyer; costume design by Amy Handkammer; and sound design by Carlo Acerra.

“9 to 5” was presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI). All authorized performance materials were also supplied by MTI. www.mtishows.com
