CONSERVATION PRESENTATION: The Heidelberg Township Environmental Advisory Council presents “Conserving Water in Heidelberg Township and Beyond” Saturday, May 16 at 10 a.m. at the Heidelberg Township Municipal Building, 6272 Roue 309, New Tripoli. Participants at the free event will learn about the Riparian Buffers and how they can conserve water. Conservation handouts will be available and activities are planned. CAR SHOW: Morgenland Church, 3120 Weidasville Road, Orefield, (Leather Corner Post) will be holding its “Wheels at the Grove” car show 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 16. All vehicles are welcome. Last year they had cars, trucks, and tractors. This year they will also have a motorcycle. All vehicles will be parked in their paved parking lot as space permits. There is a small registration donation fee. The event is free to visitors and there will be free parking. A printable registration form is available at “Morgenlandchurch.org.” Visit their website to see upcoming events, register for the car show or you can register the day of the event. They will have a trophy, the pastor prize, basket raffle, baked goods, rumble seat rides, and 50/50 drawing. Their great cooks will serve breakfast, lunch and this year, free coffee. TEA PARTY: Christ’s Church at Lowhill, 4695 Lowhill Church Road, New Tripoli, will be hosting a Boston Tea Party to celebrate 250 years of being free from British rule 11:15 a.m. May 17.

Light lunch, pastries and a variety of hot teas will be served. Several members will wear colonial costumes and there will be special music.

CHURCH FUNDRAISERS: Take-A-Taco Food Truck will be at Christ’s Church at Lowhill from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. May 19. The church will also be offering baked goods for sale.

A fundraiser with Vince’s Famous Cheesesteaks Food Truck will take place noon to 6 p.m. June 10.

Vince’s will donate $1 for every sandwich sold right back to the church. Lowhill Church will also be selling homemade baked goods.

YARD SALE: Ziegels Church, 9990 Ziegels Church Road, Breinigsville, will be holding a yard sale from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 23.

There will be food available for purchase to help raise funds for Wreaths Across America. They will be selling baked goods, hot dogs and drinks.

BUSINESS ANNIVERSARY: Salon Nesma, a Breinigsville-based salon, is celebrating its 10-year anniversary with a grand reopening event to introduce its new spa expansion, “The Spa at Salon Nesma.” The event will take place 4–7 p.m. May 16 and will be open to the community.

BLOOM LUNCHEON: Bloom for Women Inc. host its 2nd annual Bloom in Style luncheon and fundraiser Thursday, May 21, 11:30 a.m. at Saucon Valley Country Club, 2050 Saucon Valley Road, Bethlehem. The event, chaired by Laura Bennett of the Helen & R.K. Laros Foundation, brings the community together for an afternoon of fashion, philanthropy, and purpose in support of survivors of sex trafficking and exploitation.

Guest speaker Adrianne Doll, prosecuting attorney at the Pennsylvania Department of State – Office of General Counsel, will share insights related to trafficking, exploitation, and advocacy efforts.

PLANT SALE: Hawk Mountain Sanctuary will host its annual Spring Native Plant Sale 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. May 16, and 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. May 17, featuring almost 100 species of native trees, grasses, ferns, shrubs, and flowering plants. The sale will be held outside the Visitor Center. All proceeds benefit Hawk Mountain’s conservation and education programs. Knowledgeable volunteers will be on hand to make the experience enjoyable, educational, and convenient: helping with plant selection and care, offering expert gardening tips, and even carrying purchases to your car or holding them until the end of your visit. APPRENTICESHIP PARTNERSHIPS: Lehigh Carbon Community College (LCCC), as part of the Pennsylvania Commission for Community Colleges (PACCC), yesterday signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with TradesFutures to establish a first-of-its-kind statewide apprenticeship-ready partnership.

The agreement, signed on National Skilled Trades Day in Harrisburg, authorizes Pennsylvania’s 15 community colleges to implement the Multi-Craft Core Curriculum (MC3). This is a nationally recognized pre-apprenticeship program, developed by North America’s Building Trades Unions.

PEACE CAMP: Elementary School-aged children can enjoy a low-cost day camp designed to encourage cooperation, understanding of other cultures, reverence for our planet and much more at the 37th annual LEPOCO Young People Making Peace Summer Day Camp. July 27 – 31 at the First Presbyterian Church in Allentown. Enrollment costs on a sliding scale from $10 to $50/week. Children who have completed Kindergarten through seventh grade are welcome. HAWK MOUNTAIN

SUMMER CAMP: Hawk Mountain Sanctuary invites families to plan ahead for an unforgettable summer of outdoor exploration with its 2026 Summer Nature Camps. Designed for youth in grades one through five, these week long day camps will immerse children in the natural world through hands-on, educational, and fun-filled experiences on the Mountain. SENIORS GROUP: Lehigh Gap Nature Center, 8844 Paint Mill Road, Slatington, has formed a new group for nature-minded seniors. The sessions will be held in the Great Hall at the Osprey House on the second Monday of each month from 9-10:30 a.m.

ECOLOGY CLUB: LGNC’s Ecology Club is back for the 2025-26 school year! Children ages 9 and older are invited to meet from 4:15-5:15 p.m. at the Osprey House on the first Wednesday of every month until June 3 for fun, hands-on nature adventures. DODGEBALL TOURNAMENT: For the third year, a one-time gym class tradition returns to help kids in need, as KidsPeace announces the third annual KidsPeace Dodgeball Tournament will be held June 18, at the organization’s Orchard Hills Campus in Orefield. Registration of teams for the Dodgeball Tournament is now open, but will close on June 5. CAMP CADET: State Police Troop M, Bethlehem, have announced its annual Camp Cadet program will be held June 7 to 12, at Camp Fowler, 5851 Horseshoe Road, Orefield. The camp is an overnight summer program for boys and girls between the ages of 12-15. Its goal is to introduce them to the diverse criminal justice system and to establish a positive relationship between law enforcement and youths, while living in an atmosphere similar to an actual State Police Academy.
