Education/Training: Jacob Jasinski, MD, obtained his Bachelor of Science in nursing from Gwynedd Mercy University, Gwynedd Valley, before earning his Doctor of Medicine from Temple University School of Medicine. He completed residency training with St. Luke’s University Hospital.

Service line or specialty: Hospital medicine at LVH–Carbon

Services offered: As a hospitalist, Dr. Jasinski provides healthcare services to all patients admitted to LVH–Carbon. Services include diagnosing illnesses, ordering tests, prescribing medications, monitoring recovery and working closely with the interdisciplinary team (clinical specialists, nursing, therapy and case management) to provide coordinated care and discharge planning.

He also communicates all prescription changes, diagnoses and discharges with the patient’s primary care clinician and facilitates recommended follow-up to ensure a smooth transition from the hospital to home or another care setting.

Dr. Jasinski is especially passionate about making sure his patients and their families understand their treatment plans and next steps. “I believe that when people are well informed, they can better engage with, and take an active role, in their healthcare,” Dr. Jasinski says.

Conditions treated: Dr. Jasinski treats a broad range of acute and chronic conditions for hospitalized patients. Those conditions include various infections, heart conditions, diabetes complications, electrolyte imbalances and blood clots. He also collaborates with neurologists while caring for stroke patients and with surgeons for post-surgery patients.

Dr. Jasinski believes the most important part of caring for patients is the time spent with them face-to-face. He is passionate about clearly explaining each patient’s diagnosis and treatment plan so patients and their families understand what is happening, feel comfortable asking questions and can participate in their care.

His commitment to medicine is deeply personal. Dr. Jasinski says his life was “profoundly shaped” by the lifesaving medical treatment his mother received when he was young. Not only did this ensure her survival but also allowed for the birth of his younger sister a few years later. Both his mother and sister are still doing great today.

“Realizing later that I have modern medicine to thank for the family I grew up with, I found myself inclined toward a career in healthcare and the possibility of paying this forward to others,” he says.

Inspired by that experience, he began his career working as an ER patient-care technician and later as a nurse before attending medical school to expand his knowledge and to continue to hone his expertise.

His dedication to exceptional patient care has been recognized nationally. In 2025, Dr. Jasinski earned the Physician Excellence in Patient Experience award by ranking in the top 1% nationally in patient feedback through his work with Lehigh Valley Health Network, proudly part of Jefferson Health. That recognition reflects the compassionate, patient-centered approach he brings to every interaction.
