Advertising of various ordinances approved
The Lower Macungie Township Board of Commissioners met April 2 for a regularly scheduled meeting in the Lower Macungie Township offices, Brookside Road.
The agenda included two items for advertising. This included traffic regulations and bridge weight limitations. It is also involved in the amending of CH 27 which is for “Data Center Use and Parking Matrix.”
The commissioners approved the advertising of these proposed ordinances.
A bid award was approved for the 2026 Roadway Improvement Program project. Bracalente Construction, Inc., was awarded this project. The company’s low bid was $425,439.
Asphalt Maintenance Solutions was awarded the 2026 Crack Sealing project. The bid amount was $72,720.
The Sanitary Sewer Lateral Repair was solicited through COSTARS, the Cooperative Purchasing Program and the project will be done by Mr. Rehab, LLC, of Mechanicsburg, in the amount of $695,510.
The Sanitary Sewer Manhole repair project will be done by the same company in the amount of $103,200.
The Stormwater Lining repair project will also go to Mr. Rehab in the amount of $326,708.
Resolution 2026-10 is the contract with Emmaus Aquatic Club for pool management. It was approved.
Resolution 2026-11 is a contract for Lower Macungie Township’s 2026 Community Day May 1 with Brookside Country Club, Celebration Fireworks and St. Luke’s Health Network. In celebration of America’s 250th anniversary, there will be a fireworks display. Additional parking is being provided free of charge at 3801 Brookside Road. This was approved.
A question arose about the attendance to this event. It is estimated anywhere from 2,000 to 4,000 will attend. The event is outdoors and weather dependent. There is expected to be a greater turnout this year than in the past.
Resolution 2026-12 was approved. This resolution is amending the 2026 Fee Schedule.
In communications, a township resident sent a letter in thanks for support of their nephew’s military troop. Troop Support packages were sent to their nephew and shared with his troop.
The minutes were approved. The bill list was approved.
