T-Town Velodrome seeks “National Anthem” singers
Valley Preferred Cycling Center, home of the T-Town Velodrome, is inviting singers and groups from the region to perform the “National Anthem” during its “50th Anniversary Friday Night Racing Series” this summer.
The Velodrome’s anniversary season is May 29 through Aug. 14.
Organizers are looking for individuals, families, school groups, choirs and community performers who would like to open the evening’s racing program with a performance of “The Star-Spangled Banner.”
The “National Anthem” is performed at approximately 7 p.m. Fridays before the start of world-class track cycling competition.
“Celebrating 50 years of racing at the Valley Preferred Cycling Center is a special moment for our community,” said Gary Thornton, executive director of the Valley Preferred Cycling Center.
“We would love to showcase local voices and give singers the opportunity to be part of the tradition that kicks off each Friday night of racing,” Thornton said.
The Valley Preferred Cycling Center, Breinigsville, known globally as T-Town, is one of the premier velodromes in the world.
Since opening in 1975, the facility has hosted Olympic athletes, world championships and community cycling programs for thousands of riders annually.
