A municipal capital plan, also known as a capital improvement plan, is a long-term financial strategy that outlines how a municipality will fund and manage significant infrastructure projects over several years. The plan helps prioritize projects, secure funding and ensure efficient and cost-effective public spending on things like roads, buildings and other public works.
The benefits of a capital plan ensure efficient resource allocation so that public funds are spent on projects that are necessary and offer the greatest benefit to the community.
In essence, the township’s capital plan is a road map for strategic investment in the township’s future.
Under new business, the fee schedule changes were approved by council.
There also was a discussion about the Sherwood Park pavilion and ball field.
Council approved the Aug. 6 bills for payment.
