Union United Church of Christ, Neffs, will host the 20th annual Blues Nite Out in the grove 4-10 p.m. Aug. 23.
Becky and the Beasts, a blues rock band, will kick off the festival on stage 4-6:30 p.m.
Longtime favorites Sarah Ayers and James Supra will perform with their band 7-10 p.m.
Ayers is known for her vocals and Supra for his talent on the harmonica.
The food stand will be open with volunteers serving sausage sandwiches, turkey and pulled pork barbecue, hot dogs, shrimp delight, Friendly’s ice cream and homemade desserts.
Continuing the Union U.C.C. Faith and Food Trucks program in the grove will be Woodside Avenue 5:30-8 p.m. Aug. 17. Grumpy’s Food Truck will be on site 4:30-8 p.m.
The last outdoor worship service for this season will be in the grove 10:30 a.m. Aug. 24.
Union Lutheran Church, Schnecksville, will have a Blessing of the Backpacks at the 9 a.m. service Aug. 24.
St. John’s United Church of Christ, 1415 Rising Sun Road, Laurys Station, has ordered an illuminated digital sign for installation at the front church lawn in the near future. “This digital sign will be a great way for us to tell our neighbors about various activities and events here at St. John’s,” member Don Newhard said.
