The Salisbury boys tennis team finished the season 8-3 overall and 7-2 in Colonial League matches. The team also competed in the Colonial League Championships last week.

At the league tournament, the Falcons’ doubles team of Hans Kloosterman and Ian Young led the way with a second-place finish in the No. 2 doubles bracket. The pair was seeded third and won two matches before falling in the title bout.

Salisbury’s Nolan Grejda took third place at the tournament in the No. 1 singles bracket. Grejda lost his quarterfinal match , but bounced back with a win in the third-place match.

Christian Marinos (No. 3 singles) and the doubles team of Blaine Berger and Ahmed Suleiman (No. 1 doubles) both took fourth place in their bracket at the event.

The Falcons capped the regular season last week with wins over Jim Thorpe and Palmerton.

Against Jim Thorpe, which will join the Colonial League next season, the Falcons won 4-0 with Grejda, Suleiman and Anthony To earning singles wins and Hans and Garrett Kloosterman teaming up for a doubles win.

In a 4-1 win over Palmerton, Grejda and Jacob Knerr won singles matches. Earning doubles wins for Salisbury were the teams of Berger/Sulieman and Young/Han Kloosterman.

Some Falcon players will compete in District 11 Class 2A singles and doubles tournaments this week. The team also qualified for next week’s District 11 team tournament as the No. 5 seed with a first-round matchup against No. 4 Blue Mountain.
