EARLY DISMISSALS & CLOSURE: All BASD schools were dismissed early April 16. ES only will also have Early dismissal at noon April 17. All BASD schools will be closed April 23, primary Election Day.

TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK: Teacher Appreciation Week is coming up, May 6-10, to celebrate the fantastic teachers, past and present, in the Bethlehem Area School District. Every student, parent/guardian or graduate has a story about a teacher who made a difference.

We’re collecting short messages of thanks or memorable moments about your favorite teachers. Just a few sentences can shine a light on the impact they have made. Your words could be featured across our community during Teacher Appreciation Week, bringing smiles and appreciation to our dedicated educators.

Here are some examples to get you started:

STUDENT ART EXHIBIT AT THE ROTUNDA: The Bethlehem Area School District will have exhibiting a student art exhibition at the Bethlehem City Hall Rotunda Gallery through May 14. The Rotunda Gallery is located at 10 E. Church St. Gallery hours are Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

BASD VACCINE PROGRAM: The vaccine clinic for children is typically held every Tuesday from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Appointments are required. Please contact your school nurse to assist you with scheduling an appointment.

BASD JOB OPENINGS: BASD is currently hiring for teaching and support staff positions. Visit basdschools.org for more information.

SUMMER CAMP COUNSELORS NEEDED: Hanover Township is now hiring counselors for its Kids Summer Camp. To apply, stop by the Hanover Township Community Center for an application and an on the spot interview.

KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS BOOK FAIR: The Knights of Columbus Council 15682, of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, are sponsoring a book fair featuring gently used books, CDs, DVDs, and more for the whole family the first Sunday of the month through November from 8 a.m. to noon. The Book Fair will be located in the basement of the old Sacred Heart Church, 1817 First St, and Freemansburg Avenue in Miller Heights.
