Girl Scout Troops with Parkland Service Unit 722 took part in World Thinking Day by participating in “Our World, Our Thriving Future - The Environment and Global Poverty” on Feb. 25 at Union Lutheran Church, Schnecksville.

The Scouts were introduced to several animals native to the Pennsylvania woods by Austin Miller, environmental educator with the Wildlands Conservancy, Emmaus.

Miller brought an opossum, screech owl and a skunk for the Scouts to observe and learn about their behavior.

Additional venues included presentations by Amanda Kleckner with Good Shepherd Rehabilitation and Sue Tantsits with Edge of the Woods Native Plant Nursery.
