EARLY DISMISSAL/CLOSURES: All BASD schools will have an early dismissal tomorrow, Feb. 15. High schools will dismiss at 11 a.m., middle schools at 11:30 a.m. and elementary schools at noon. Schools will be closed Feb. 16 and 19 for Presidents Day.

STUDENT SPOTLIGHT: Ian Montgomery Jr. is in second grade at William Penn ES. Ian has a strong work ethic, is focused and has the best attitude about learning! Ian is kind to his classmates and is always willing to lend a hand to his peers and teachers.

STAFF SPOTLIGHT: Jenna Husovsky is a physical education teacher at James Buchanan ES and Marvine ES. Miss Husovsky brings energy and excitement into the school environment. We appreciate her easygoing attitude and willingness to chip in and go the extra mile for the BASD and Bulldog community. She is supportive of staff and students in and out of the classroom.

ALUMNI SPOTLIGHT: Julia Brennan graduated from Freedom HS in 2014. Julia is currently the Youth Services Librarian for the Bethlehem Area Public Library. After graduating high school, Julia received a bachelor’s degree from Cedar Crest College in News Media, and a master’s degree from Drexel University in Library Science.

DENTAL CLINIC FOR YOUTH: Northampton County Community College and the Litwak Dental Clinic will offer free screenings, X-rays, cleanings, sealants, fluoride treatments and education for children ages 3 to 17 March 23. To make an appointment please call 610-861-5442.

ANIMAL VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: Last Chance Ranch in Quakertown is seeking volunteers to prepare animal food, walk dogs, cage/kennel cleaning, enrichment, vet transportation and events.
