Support military families by serving as a critical community services caseworker for American Red Cross. Good computer skills with Internet search tools and Microsoft Office Suite, as well as effective interviewing skills and pleasant and friendly manners respectful of human dignity are required. Our residents love to sing and to listen to music, they just need some help getting to the in-house activity. Cedarbrook Senior Care in Allentown has live entertainment 1:30-3:45 p.m. Monday and Saturday afternoons. Volunteers are needed to help escort residents to the auditorium (includes pushing wheelchairs.) All volunteers must provide their COVID-19 vaccine card, Social Security card and PA photo ID/driver’s license for criminal background clearance. Minimum age to volunteer is 13. Harness your grant writing skills to create a compelling story about Family Promise of Lehigh Valley and draft boilerplate language for use when applying for grants. This food pantry seeks hardworking volunteers to assist with unloading the delivery van and stocking shelves 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Fridays. Volunteers must be able to lift 15-20 pound boxes of food and will bring down the donation to weigh and organize the food on shelves at Hispanic Center Lehigh Valley, Bethlehem. Marvine Elementary School receives a food donation every Friday to distribute to the community. They need help to organize and monitor the food when the community begins to take the items, check the sign-up list and break down boxes. Video chat with seniors from your home. Similar to face-time calls, have a friendly conversation with shut in or lonely seniors in your community using your computer, tablet or smart phone to connect and provide a pleasant experience for someone that needs community connection. While our cats are waiting for their forever homes, help staff at The Center for Animal Health & Welfare, Easton, clean the cat rooms and cages to ensure the cats stay clean and healthy.
