Coplay: Saengerbund to hold concerts

Coplay Saengerbund, 205 S. Fifth St., is planning to start its Saturday night musical entertainment. Live music will be held 7-10 p.m.

The schedule includes the Remnants Trio Jan. 6, Uncle Smiley Duo Jan. 13, Jump Start Duo Jan. 20, Tim Harakal Jan. 27, Uncle Smiley Duo Feb. 3, Mere Mortals Feb. 10, Tim Harakal Feb. 17 and Steve and Steve Feb. 24.

There is no cover charge.

St. John’s Lutheran Church, 18 S. Third St., is planning a chicken potpie pickup dinner for Jan. 13. The drive-thru pickup time frame is 4-5:30 p.m.

The menu includes chicken potpie, creamed cabbage or applesauce, roll and dessert.

St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, 4 S. Fifth St., is planning to hold its second annual Rock Out Mardi Gras celebration Jan. 27. The event will start 5 p.m.

The BYOB event will include a New Orleans- inspired menu, beads, masks and prizes, and there will be music until 10 p.m.

There is a cost.

The American Club of Coplay is planning to hold a steak and cash raffle, set for Feb. 4 at the American Club pavilion, 300 Cherry St.

Doors open noon, and raffles will be held from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

There will be free lunch and refreshments for ticket holders. Tickets are available at the club or its hoagie shop.

Looking for a cheap but great workout? Trying to carve off a few pounds? Aerobic exercise is held 8:45 a.m. Saturdays and 7 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays at borough hall. Bring dumbbells and a mat.

A small fee is charged for the session.

Coplay Senior Citizens meets 1 p.m. the first and third Wednesdays at the Coplay Fire Hall building, 165 Cherry St. Doors open noon.

Coplay Food Bank, located in the lower level of the municipal building, is open 8:30-10 a.m. the second Tuesday of every month.

If unable to attend the scheduled Tuesday morning time frame, call Jodi at 610-262-0928 to make other arrangements.

The food bank needs coffee, spaghetti sauce and noodles, canned pasta, rice pouches and non-sweetened dry cereals. Monetary donations are always accepted.
