Eight Oaks awarded five medals

Eight Oaks Distillery, New Tripoli, was recently awarded multiple medals at the 2023 American Distilling Institute’s International Spirits Competition.

Those medals included:

•Gold medal for the Veterans Cut Bottled-in-Bond Bourbon Whiskey;

•Two silver medals, one each for the Pinot Noir Finished Bourbon and Port Rye Whiskey; and

•Two bronze medals, one each for the Barrel-Aged Applejack and Bourbon Whiskey.

According to Founder and CEO Chad Butters, medals aren’t everything.

“For me, it’s not about the medal,” Butters said.

“It’s about recognizing the hard work of our crew, especially seeing how much pride they put into their craft.

“We’re awfully proud of how we make our spirits.

“This is the first year we entered Veterans Cut, and that is an amazing bourbon.

“We’re offering that year-round now, and I’d encourage any of our fans that haven’t tried it out yet to do so because our production team did an amazing job with it.”

Director of Distillery Operations and Head Distiller Caitlin Fenstermacher spoke about the awards.

“It’s special to be recognized by ADI, and I’m proud of our crew for these awards,” Fenstermacher said. “From start to finish, every bottle is fueled by dedication, hard work, and love for the craft.”
