Catasauqua: Catasauqua Garden Club to meet June 7

Catasauqua Garden Club next meets 1 p.m. June 7 at Slovak Center Social Club, 1233 Fifth St., North Catasauqua. The meeting will feature Glen Pappas, who will discuss landscape lighting and share ways to enhance the beauty of your garden with creative lighting.

Club members will have horticultural and artistic displays for judging.

Reminder: The Catasauqua free summer concert series will continue with Sons of Izzy 7-10 p.m. June 2 at the Catasauqua Park and Playground amphitheater, 501 American St.

St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 122 Union St., will hold its annual block party June 22-24. The donation board is up, and the shopping for supplies has begun.

Friends of the Public Library of Catasauqua and Historic Catasauqua Preservation Association will host a summer pop-up shop and tea party noon-4 p.m. June 25 in the community room at the library, 302 Bridge St. Come and shop for handmade arts and crafts from local vendors and enjoy a light lunch, which includes soup, tea sandwiches, sweets and beverages.

Reservations for the light lunch are recommended at a discounted price, but you can also buy a lunch at the door. There is no charge to browse and shop.

Presbyterian Church of Catasauqua, 210 Pine St., will hold Vacation Bible School 9 a.m.-noon June 26-30. Participants will learn about Daniel’s courage in captivity from the Old Testament. There will also be snacks, crafts and a lot of activities.

Classes are for children 3 years old to children in fifth grade. Older children and teenagers are welcome to be helpers and assistants.
