Basket sale benefits Schneck House

By LOU WHEELAND

Special to The Press

Members of the Upper Lehigh Historical Society had a Longaberger basket sale on March 18 at the Schnecksville Grange.

All the baskets were donated by Gail Miller of Pennsville, N.J.

Miller, a descendant of the Schneck family, as her mother was a Schneck, was raised in Bernville, Berks County.

A Longaberger stylist in her spare time, Miller accumulated many sample baskets.

Basket sale proceeds will help fund repairs to the roof of the original Schneck Log House, across from Weis market, Schnecksville.

Members of the Upper Lehigh Historical Society Ann Heiser, Neffs, Vicky Kern, Keren Panik and Sally Burg, all from Schnecksville, gathered at the Schnecksville Grange March 18 for a Longaberger Basket sale fundraiser to repair the roof on the Schneck Log House.
Chairwoman Nancy Werner of the Upper Lehigh Historical Society and Gail Miller, Longaberger Basket stylist, and descendant of the Schneck family, attended the basket sale. Miller holds a family portrait of the Schneck family including her mother, Bertha Schneck McCarthy.
