CONTRIBUTED ARTICLE

Angelic Schneider is passionate about public education. She has dedicated herself, through her career as a middle school teacher in the Parkland School District, to do the work that public schools guarantee, thereby providing a meaningful educational experience to every child. She has lived in the East Penn School District for 23 years. She has two children in the district – one attending Emmaus High School and one who attends Eyer Middle School.

Schneider is a graduate of Cedar Crest College with a bachelor’s of the arts. Additionally, she holds a master’s degree in elementary education from Kutztown University.

While working as a teacher, she also worked part-time for Behavioral Health Associates as well as the Intermediate Unit #21. As a behavioral specialist and mobile therapist, she was able to work with children and their families struggling with mental health issues.

Schneider is focused on continuing to improve the infrastructure in the school district so all stakeholders have a voice in the success of the district. She believes there needs to be a clear vision and high expectations for student achievement and instructional excellence with ongoing support so it can be achieved.

School safety and building maintenance should be a top priority as well as special education support, support for teachers and health and wellness.

“Having the opportunity to be a part of our school board will allow me to add insight, ideas and suggestions that will improve and enhance our district, not only for my children but all the children. Being part of the important decision-making process and bridging the gaps between our schools, community and teachers provides the greatest benefits for our school district.”
