South Whitehall man died from gunshot wounds, coroner says

A 41-year-old South Whitehall Township has died after sustaining gunshot wounds around 8:15 p.m. Sept. 29 in the area of South Front and East Cumberland streets, Allentown.

According to Lehigh County Coroner Daniel A. Buglio, Jaroe J. Perry was pronounced dead at 9 p.m. the same night in the Emergency Department at St. Luke’s University Hospital, Bethlehem.

Perry died as a result of gunshot wounds, Buglio said in a press release. He said he is ruling his death a homicide.

Buglio said as with all criminal investigations, an autopsy was scheduled to be completed Sept. 30 at the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office and Forensic Center.

In addition to the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office, the Allentown Police Department, the Lehigh County Homicide Task Force and the Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office are investigating this incident.
