Lehigh Township: Salem UMC community outreach group plans taco night

The SERVants community outreach and mission group of Salem United Methodist Church, 1067 Blue Mountain Drive, Danielsville, will hold its annual all-you-can-eat taco night 4:30-6:30 p.m. March 25. The dinner includes hard- and soft-shell tacos, taco fixings, rice and beans, dessert and beverages.

All the proceeds will go toward funding of community programming through local 501(c)3s and the veteran and first-responder thanking events.

Join in a night of good food, conversation and fellowship.

St. Nicholas Catholic Church, 4412 Mountain View Drive, Walnutport, is planning to hold an Easter egg hunt 12:30-2:30 p.m. April 8. Children need to bring their own basket and meet at the church social hall.

Indianland Garden Club is resuming meetings after a three-year hiatus. Meetings will be held 7 p.m. the second Tuesday of the month, with next one set for April 11.

Lehigh Township Historical Society will hold its 19th annual basket social April 16 at Blue Mountain Fish and Game hall, 4190 Wood Drive, Walnutport. Doors open noon, and the drawing will begin 3:30 p.m. If not present, winners will be called.

Come out to see the great selection of baskets, gift cards/certificates, 50/50 drawing and door prizes.

Food and beverages will be sold. There will also be a bake sale.

Tickets will be sold at the door for cash only.

Donations for the raffle are being accepted.

Proceeds go to the LTHS building fund.

Lehigh Township Lioness-Lions Club will hold its annual basket party 11 a.m.-3 p.m. April 23 at Danielsville Democratic Club, 3980 Mountain View Drive.

John Eckhart, a retired Pennsylvania state trooper, will give a presentation on his 2018 adventures on the Appalachian Trail, titled “Hiking Thru.” The program will begin 6:30 p.m. April 25 at Hope Lutheran Church, 4131 Lehigh Drive, Cherryville.

Light refreshments will be served.

The event is open to all interested, and there will be a freewill offering for Troopers Helping Troopers Foundation.

St. Nicholas Catholic Church’s designer purse bingo is planned for April 30 at Diamond Fire Hall, 110 Main St., Walnutport. Doors open 11:30 a.m., and bingo begins 1 p.m.
