The Seed Farm will host a spring plant sale in May

Gardeners! Mark your calendars.

The Seed Farm, an incubator for new and novice farmers, will host its annual spring plant sale in May, according to its website.

Hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 13 and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 14 at the farm, 5854 Vera Cruz Road, Upper Milford Township.

Organizers offer a large selection of vegetable, herb and flower plants for sale and all of the plants are grown at the farm without synthetic fertilizers or pesticides. Moreover, genetically modified seeds are never used.

Vegetable offerings listed for the sale held in 2022 included a variety of cucumbers, squash, beans, peppers, eggplant, tomatoes and lettuce plants. Flowers included marigolds, coneflowers and sunflowers.

If you’re beginning to plan your garden plots or flower beds, please consider making room for a row or two or more of locally grown plants.

A fall plant sale at the farm debuted last August.

For information about the sale and other events and training offered at The Seed Farm, visit the website theseedfarm.org.

The grant was formally announced at the 2023 Pennsylvania Farm Show in January in Harrisburg.
