Allentown Fair Queen to be crowned on opening night

The 2022 Great Allentown Fair Queen who will reign over the upcoming 170th agricultural and entertainment exposition will be crowned on Aug. 31.

The Fair Queen Contest and Coronation, sponsored by Signal, will be presented in the Astound Broadband Farmerama Theater starting at 7:30 p.m.

There are five contestants vying to succeed the 2021 titleholder MacKenzie Blatt of Kutztown and win a $1,500 scholarship provided by Lehigh-Northampton Pomona Grange Number 68 and the Allentown Fairgrounds Farmers Market.

The finalists include:

Lissamarie Rojas, 20, is the daughter of Maria Polanco of Allentown.

A junior at Centenary University, N.J., majoring in fashion design and business, she plans to open her own business.

Lissamarie’s passion is helping and working with people and her hope is to give back to her community.

She volunteers at the Phoebe Home, the Allentown Public Library, the Children’s Place, her local church for food drives and holiday events.

She sings in an A cappella group at her university.

She loves gymnastics, dance, swimming, singing, piano and sewing.

Madison Short, 19, is the daughter of Cindy Reylander of Orefield.

A sophomore at Valley Forge Military College, he has earned basic and advanced camp graduation ribbons and the Valley Forge Alumni Gold Award.

Upon graduation, Madison plans to enter the U.S. Army on active duty and pursue a degree in physical therapy after she serves.

She is a member of the Medical Unit in Allentown, a recipient of the President’s Gold Award, Bronze and Silver Award in Girl Scouts and a volunteer firefighter.

She loves reading, going to the gym, music and growing vegetables with her grandparents.

Allison Emanuel, 17, is the daughter of Brenda and Jason Emanuel of Laury’s Station.

A senior at Parkland High School, she is member of the National Honor Society.

Allison is the recipient of the Lehigh County 4-H Teen Initiative Award in 2019 and 2021 and she has also received the 4-H Green, White, Bronze and Silver Clover Awards.

She is involved in the National Organization for Women, the President of Farm-to-Table, a youth voice in the Lehigh County Program Development Committee and serves as a State Project Ambassador for the Pennsylvania Access, Equity and Opportunity Program.

Upon graduation she would like to pursue a degree where she can work with 4-H programs.

She enjoys skiing and cooking.

Emily Lamana, 20, is the daughter of Nicole Roeder and Peter Lamana of Allentown.

She plans on pursuing a degree in business and accounting.

Emily’s many accomplishments include editor of Salisbury Literary Magazine and being named a Top 10 twirler in the International Twirling Competition.

Emily has been an auctioneer assistant with her family business for many years.

A past recipient of the William J. Albert Award in 2019 and 2021, she has enriched her life through music by participating in concert and jazz band.

She enjoys roller skating, playing music on her saxophone and clarinet, photography, visual arts, and coaching twirling to the inner-city youth.

Kamryn Fink, 16, is the daughter of Travis and Stephanie Fink and David and Linda Dries of Germansville.

She is a junior at Northwestern Lehigh High School.

Upon graduation, she plans to attend Delaware Valley University majoring in animal husbandry.

She is involved in SADD, student council, 4-H Livestock Club and cooking club.

She was awarded the Pennsylvania Academic Achievement Award, the Spirit of Kempton Fair Award, 4-H Clover Awards and Outstanding 4-H Project Books for Market Goats and Hogs.

She is a member of the Lehigh County 4-H Potato Judging Team where the team achieved first place and continued onto the Pennsylvania Farm Show.

She loves working on her family’s farm driving tractor, baling hay, working in the egg room or helping her father with the commercial hog business.
