High speed pursuit from Emmaus ends in a crash in Allentown

A motorist and his passenger were hurt after their vehicle crashed into parked cars in a police chase from Emmaus into Allentown early March 28, according to Emmaus police.

Charges against the men are pending ongoing investigations.

The driver is described as a 22-year-old male. His passenger is described as a 21-year-old male.

A media release details the incident as follows:

At 12:27 a.m., an Emmaus police officer saw two vehicles traveling toward him at a high rate of speed in the 700 block of Harrison Street. Police attempted to stop one of the vehicles in the area of Macungie Avenue and Pine Street. The vehicle fled, prompting a pursuit ending when officers lost sight of the vehicle in the area of Fourth and Chestnut streets.

At approximately 12:46 a.m., the same two vehicles were seen by police in the area of South Second and Railroad streets.

Police again attempted to stop the same vehicle, which fled into east Allentown.

The vehicle crashed into parked cars in the area of South Fourth Street and Emmaus Avenue, Allentown.

The motorist and passenger were transported to a local hospital.

The Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office also is investigating the incident.
