LEHIGH VALLEY WEATHER

EHS names student of the week

Q. In what grade are you currently enrolled?

A. I am currently enrolled in 12th grade at Emmaus High School.

Q. Please provide the first names of your family members: parents, siblings and pets.

A. My mother is Deb, my father is Keith, my older brother is Cooper and our dog is named Shyla.

Q. What is your favorite subject? Why?

A. My favorite subject this year is psychology. I really like this subject because it is interesting to learn why people do the things we do, and to be able to get a better understanding of the mind and our behaviors.

Q. Have you received any special awards or recognition?

A. I have received Principal’s Honor Roll and I am a member of National Honor Society.

Q. Are you involved in any extracurricular activities? How has COVID-19 impacted these activities?

A. An extracurricular activity I am involved in is volleyball. I played for the high school team and I also play for a club team in the Lehigh Valley. Last year for high school season we had a condensed game schedule due to COVID-19, but this year we were able to have our full schedule and the only thing different from “normal” years was having to wear a mask. I am very thankful we got to have a full season, especially since it was my last season as a senior this year.

Q. What do you consider your biggest challenge to date?

A. I consider my biggest challenge to date dealing with the loss of my cousin Jess. She died in January 2021 to brain cancer and was a very big part of my life. She was a math teacher and coached volleyball at Northampton High School. She was like an older sister to me and was always someone I looked up to in everything I did.

Q. What is your next goal after high school?

A. My next goal after high school is to attend college and pursue a degree in elementary or middle school education.

Q. Whom do you admire? Why?

A. I admire my parents because they work hard each day and show constant support to my brother and I. I also admire my volleyball coaches because they not only made me a better player through their coaching, they helped me grow as a person and taught me lessons I will take into the experiences I go through for the rest of my life.

Q. For what would you like to be remembered?

A. I would like to be remembered as someone who is a hard worker, and someone who supports other people in the things they do. I want to make a positive impact on other people’s lives.

Q. Do you have any advice for your peers?

A. Some advice I have for my peers is to always be kind to others, because you truly never know what someone is going through in their life and to be grateful for each new day you are given.
