Catasauqua: Council to reopen budget, review no-tax-hike plan

Catasauqua Borough Council plans to reopen the 2022 budget and will hold a public meeting on the issue 7 p.m. Jan. 17 at the municipal complex, 90 Bridge St.

The 2022 borough budget was passed 6-1 and did not contain a property tax hike. Councilman Paul Cmil voted no.

The new 2022 council wants to review the budget funding, according to the Catasauqua Borough office, and possibly alter the following budget items: Main Streets program, George Taylor House, public library, Northampton Regional EMS, Shade Tree Commission, Taggart Associates (Iron Works project consultant), parks/pool and civic and community projects.
