Liberty HS-Team makes donation to Cancer Support Community

Liberty HS’s girls volleyball team has made a $2,000 donation to Cancer Support Community of the Greater Lehigh Valley.

Liberty HS recently held a “Pink Out“ volleyball match against cross-town rival Bethlehem Catholic Golden Hawks. The event included a basket raffle with donations from various businesses throughout the Lehigh Valley. Sponsors included Pat’s Pizza & Bistro in Bethlehem, and Paranee Properties. With proceeds from the event, the Liberty Hurricanes were able to donate generously to help those fighting Cancer.

“The young women on the Liberty volleyball team encompass the values of hard work and dedication on and off the court,” said Liberty HS girls volleyball Head Coach Connor Swigart. “This annual event is a team favorite, and a great opportunity for the girls to give back to our community.”

Amanda Buss, executive director of Cancer Support Community of the Greater Lehigh Valley, was in attendance during the event.

“We couldn’t provide such valuable assistance to people affected by cancer without the kindness and generosity from caring community members,” Buss said. “The support from events like Liberty High School’s Pink Out makes an important difference for patients and their loved ones struggling to cope, striving for wellness, and needing resources and guidance.”
