Emmaus police participate in biannual prescription collection

Press Photo by Jim Marsh Emmaus Police Department Sgt. Bryan Hampsher accepts a bag of no-longer-needed prescription medications from Allentown resident Christine Mika on National Drug Take Back Day Oct. 23 at Emmaus Police Department headquarters along Jubilee Street, Emmaus. Supported by the United States Drug Enforcement Agency, drug give back programs are held across the country in the spring and fall. The program offers consumers an alternative to putting the drugs in refuse containers or flushing them into a municipal sewage system. The DEA collects and incinerates the drugs in a safe manner.
