North Catasauqua: J4 committee set to meet Oct. 28 in municipal building

The Catasauqua/North Catasauqua J4 committee is planning to meet 7 p.m. Oct. 28 at North Catasauqua Municipal Building, 1066 Fourth St.

Volunteer to help plan the 2022 J4 Celebration, set for July 2 at North Catasauqua William J. Albert Memorial Park, 701 Grove St.

All those attending the meeting are asked to wear a mask even if vaccinated.

North Catasauqua Police Department will hold its second annual trunk-or-treat event 4-6 p.m. Oct. 30 at North Catasauqua William J. Albert Memorial Park.

Enjoy treats and fun with members of the police department and borough.

Come to the park pavilion wearing your best costume, and receive treats and candy.

All ages are welcome to attend.

North Catasauqua Borough’s trick-or-treat night is set for 6-8 p.m. Oct. 30, with a rain date of Oct. 31.

Remember to turn on your porch lights if you plan to hand out candies and goodies.

Porter Chapman Masonic Temple, 1103 Sixth St., will hold a moolah bingo, with cash prizes, Oct. 31.

The doors and kitchen will open 1 p.m. The games will begin 3 p.m.

Food served includes pulled pork from Grumpy’s Bar-B-Que Roadhouse.

A Chinese auction will support the fraternal assistance program.

Polls open 7 a.m. and close 8 p.m.

North Catasauqua Betterment Committee is seeking information on casualties of war who resided in North Catasauqua, so banners honoring them can be hung around town.

Mark your calendar now for the Mrs. Nothstein’s Helping Hands Fund homemade holiday sale. The event will be 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Nov. 4 and 5 and 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Nov. 6 at St. John Fisher Catholic Church, 1239 Third St.

The 10th annual event will feature more than 35 local crafters with a wide selection of holiday gifts, general crafts, homemade food and tasty treats.

Mrs. Nothstein’s Helping Hands Fund gives back to the children and families in need in the community.

Catasauqua Community Thrift Shop, 113 Bridge St., has fall and winter clothing available.

Regular hours at the shop are 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Donations of clean, used clothing in good condition are appreciated during store hours.

Proceeds are returned to the community through contributions that support youth and adult programs and services.

Public Library of Catasauqua has more than 19,000 items including books, magazines and DVDs.

There are weekly programs for youths, teens and adults.
