Ithaca College

Mullen earns dean’s list

Morgan Mullen, of Cherryville, was named to the dean’s list for the spring 2021 semester.

Founded in 1892, Ithaca College is a residential college dedicated to building knowledge and confidence through a continuous cycle of theory, practice and performance. Home to some 5,000 students, the college offers more than 100 degree programs in its schools of business, communications, humanities and sciences, health sciences and human performance and music.

Located in Allentown, Cedar Crest College has been named 11 years in a row among the top colleges in the nation by U.S. News & World Report’s Best College Rankings and as a “Top Performer on Social Mobility” for 2020-21. In 2020, the college was recognized as No. 5 among Washington Monthly’s national “Master’s University Ranking” and No. 17 “Best Bang for Your Buck: Northeast.”

In addition, the college was ranked nationally in the Council of Independent Colleges for educating women completing STEM bachelor’s degrees who go on to earn Ph.D.s and from 2017 to 2020 as a Top 25 school for nontraditional students by Best College Reviews. University of Scranton

Dean’s list is announced

Local residents were among more than 1,875 students named to University of Scranton’s dean’s list for the 2021 spring semester. The dean’s list recognizes students for academic excellence. A student must have a GPA of 3.5 or better with a minimum number of credit hours during the semester to make the dean’s list. The list includes students from the Jesuit university’s college of arts and sciences, Kania School of Management and Panuska College of Professional Studies.

Bucknell University

Dean’s list is announced

Bucknell University has released the dean’s list for outstanding academic achievement during the spring semester of the 2020-21 academic year. A student must earn a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher on a scale of 4.0 to receive dean’s list recognition.

St. Mary’s College of Maryland

Kennedy awarded scholar honor

John Kennedy, of Northampton, was awarded St. Mary’s scholar honors at St. Mary’s College of Maryland, the National Public Honors College. St. Mary’s Scholars are juniors and seniors who have earned at least 32 credit hours at St. Mary’s College and whose cumulative GPA is 3.5 or better. St. Mary’s scholars are determined once a year at the end of the spring semester.

St. Mary’s College of Maryland is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education through 2024-25. St. Mary’s College is ranked one of the best public liberal arts schools in the nation by U.S. News & World Report. Approximately 1,600 students attend the college, nestled on the St. Mary’s River in southern Maryland.

Widener University

Siegfried named to dean’s list

Mikayla Siegfried, of Northampton, was among the students named to the dean’s list at Widener University. She earned dean’s list for the fall 2020 and spring 2021 semesters, in addition to earning academic honors other semesters. Siegfried is majoring in biology with bio/chem and chemistry minors.

Central Penn College

Soltis earn dean’s list status

Brianna Soltis, of Whitehall, has been named to Central Penn College dean’s list for the spring 2021 term. Soltis is majoring in occupational therapy assistant. To qualify for dean’s list, an undergraduate student must carry six or more credits and earn a GPA of 3.5 or better for the term.
