Carla Jane Stauffer

Carla Jane Stauffer, 72, of Laurys Station, died Sept. 10, 2021, after an illness from cancer in her home.

She and her husband Mark S. Stauffer shared 52 years of married bliss.

Born Aug. 5, 1949, in Palmerton, she was the daughter of the late Arthur R. Reitz Sr. and Mary Ellen (Hughes) Reitz.

A 1967 graduate of Slatington High School, she was a member of the National Honor Society.

After high school, she was a secretary at the former Keystone Lamp Factory, Slatington, before marrying her sweetheart, Mark.

She attended LCCC for medical assisting and graduated at the top of her class.

She was most proud of her 27 years spent working and helping patients at Parkland Family Health Center, Schnecksville.

She enjoyed going on many trips to travel the world and she and her family visited more than 53 different countries and 48 states, even Alaska.

Her favorites were Paris, London, Rome and the Viking Cruises in Europe.

She and her husband spent most Valentines Days in Punta Cana.

They collected music from all over the world to play while on their deck.

She also loved Ocean City, Md., and vacations with her girls each summer.

Her hobbies included dancing on Saturday nights at the Fullerton Fire Hall, crafts, decorating for the seasons, pressing wildflowers she collected and gave as gifts, reading, and just relaxing on her deck watching the birds and flowers grow.

She was also an avid Philadelphia Phillies fan and a Villanova Basketball fan.

She was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, Laurys Station.

In addition to her loving husband, she is survived by a daughter, Allison L. Kenderdine and her companion, Ronald J. Landis, of Pottstown; son Mark D. “Miley” Stauffer of Allentown; grandchildren Aubrey Jackson and her husband, Daniel, of Lynchburg, Va., Amanda Kenderdine of Fort Polk, La., Julia Kenderdine of Pottstown; and sister-in-law Diane Reitz of Slatington.

She was predeceased by her brother, Arthur R. Reitz Jr.
