LOWHILL TWP: Area churches selling hoagies

Morgenland Church, 3120 Weidasville Road, Orefield, is accepting orders until Sept. 5 for its hoagie sale.

Choose from regular with everything, no peppers, no onions with peppers, no onions or peppers, ham and cheese, turkey, roast beef with no onions or peppers, tuna, or veggie.

Ingredients supplied by Thomson’s Meat Market, Walnutport.

Pickup will be 4-6 p.m. Sept. 14 at the church.

Christ’s Church at Lowhill, 4695 Lowhill Church Road, New Tripoli, are accepting orders for its R&K subs, hoagie, and pretzel sandwich sale.

Hoagies include Italian, ham, turkey, roast beef, and American 12-inch whole grain roll hoagies available in turkey and all cheese.

Pretzel sandwiches include Italian, ham, turkey, roast beef, sweet Lebanon bologna, all cheese, chicken, egg, and tuna salad.

Curbside pickup will be 4-5 p.m. Aug. 25 at the church.

Lehigh Valley Zoo, 5150 Game Preserve Road, Schnecksville, will be hosting its Run Wild 5k/10k for animal conservation sponsored by St. Luke’s University Health Network Aug. 15.

The 5k will start at 8:30 a.m. with the 10k to follow at 8:45 a.m.

The races will start in the zoo’s parking lot and take runners through the Trexler Game Preserve.

The fun race will end inside the zoo as participants run past the zebras, oryx, camels, ostrich, and kangaroos, and end at the Giraffe Barn.

There will be separate award ceremonies after each race on the zoo sun deck.

Race day registration will be available.
