Ring that bell: An “Independence Day” service, 10:45 a.m. July 4, is open to the public, Zion’s “Liberty Bell” Reformed United Church of Christ, 620 W. Hamilton St., Allentown. Gathering music begins at 10:30 a.m. Vocalist Dan Rambo, baritone, will lead the service music and present a solo, “Bless This Land, Dear God, Our Father,” by Sally DeFord. He will be accompanied by Jane Ellen Knotek, Director of Music Ministry, Zion UCC. Presiding minister is Rev. Joshua Knappenberger, Liberty Bell Museum Director, who served in the Army for 12 years, four on active duty and eight in the reserves. He attended Airborne School and was assigned to the Old Guard, a ceremonial unit in Washington, D.C. He was in training at Fort Benning, Ga., when the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks occurred. Rock that stage: Accept, in photo, and Blackfoot presented a concert, 8 p.m. July 2, Penn’s Peak, 325 Maury Road, Jim Thorpe. Doors open at 7 p.m. The concert was rescheduled from April 30, 2020; Sept. 3, 2020, and April 29, 2021. Tickets honored for previous concerts. Accept, a Teutonic heavy metal band from Germany, is Wolf Hoffmann, Mark Tornillo, Uwe Lulis, Christopher Williams, Mark Motnik and Philip Shouse. Accept released its debut album, 1979; “The Rise Of Chaos,” 2017, and “Too Mean To Die,” 2021. Blackfoot, a southern hard rock band founded in Jacksonville, Fla., is Drew Spencer, Kenny Lawrence, Stuart McConnell, Chief Spires and Dave Somerville.
