Kempton Lions Club members met in front of the Kempton Fire Company social hall April 17 for a dual purpose - to take part in a roadside cleanup in the Village of Kempton and to collect foodstuffs for Friends Inc., Kutztown.

Safety gloves, vests and trash bags were provided to the volunteers.

The cleanup was done in cooperation with the Albany Township Environmental Advisory Council and board of supervisors, Hawk Mountain Sanctuary, Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful, PennDOT and The Kempton Hotel, which provided discount coupons to participants.
