We are now rapidly approaching the one-year anniversary of COVID-19 shutdowns. I look back at last March’s column and marvel at all the events and activities that no longer seem available. Yet I see a few glimmers of hope: melting snow and sunny days that promise spring is coming with warmer temperatures to invite us back outside; events being tentatively planned and, of course, more vaccines becoming available. Let’s say a prayer and keep our fingers crossed for a brighter 2021.

Happy birthday to my eldest, dear Lydia!

The copy deadline for the April 7 column will be April 1.
