Special to The Press

The ribbon was cut on Oct. 23 for a new foot bridge crossing Schaefer Run at Breinigsville West Park.

Following the old Allentown Railroad bed through Upper Macungie, the trail is a way to walk and bike through scenic woods while remaining close to home. The foot bridge, modeled after a steel truss bridge, allows passage across Schaefer Run, completing the walking and bicycle path.
