Muhlenberg College

Congratulations to the Class of 2020. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Muhlenberg College 2020 baccalaureate and commencement ceremonies are rescheduled for Oct. 17 and 18. However, to commemorate this important milestone, the college hosted a virtual senior week, which culminated May 17 with the conferral of degrees by President Kathleen Harring. During the presentation, 518 students were awarded their undergraduate degrees.

Founded in 1848, Muhlenberg is a highly selective, private, four-year residential, liberal arts college located in Allentown. With an undergraduate enrollment of approximately 2,200 students, Muhlenberg College is dedicated to shaping creative, compassionate, collaborative leaders through rigorous academic programs in the arts, humanities, natural sciences and social sciences as well as selected preprofessional programs, including accounting, business, education and public health. The college is affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.

Susquehanna University

A number of high-achieving students were named to Susquehanna University’s dean’s list for the spring 2020 semester. The dean’s list recognizes students who achieve a grade-point average of 3.4 or higher out of a possible 4.0 for the semester. To qualify, students must complete a minimum of 12 semester hours.

Bath: Bradley Hower, a biology major in the Class of 2020 and a graduate of Northampton Area High School; Larisa Calvo, a marketing and Spanish studies major in the Class of 2022 and a graduate of Northampton Area High School

Catasauqua: Bradshaw Henning, a physics major in the Class of 2022 and a graduate of Catasauqua High School; Kaylee Kauffman, a legal studies major in the Class of 2023 and a graduate of Northampton Area High School

Coplay: Kiara Bryant, a communications major in the Class of 2022 and a graduate of Parkland High School

Northampton: Grace Tepes, a biochemistry major in the Class of 2023 and a graduate of Northampton Area High School

Whitehall: Angelica Ramos, a creative writing and studio art major in the Class of 2020 and a graduate of Whitehall High School; Megan Herbine, a mathematics and economics major in the Class of 2022 and a graduate of Whitehall High School

Walnutport: Kaitlyn Gardineer, an earth and environmental sciences, studio art and German studies major in the Class of 2021 and a graduate of Northampton Area High School; Victoria Gardineer, an international studies major in the Class of 2022 and a graduate of Northampton Area High School

Susquehanna, a liberal arts university offering more than 100 majors and minors in business, humanities, arts and sciences, focuses on intellectual development, global competence and career success. DeSales University

The following students made the dean’s list for the spring 2020 session at DeSales University. To qualify for dean’s list, a student must have a minimum 3.5 GPA on no fewer than 12 credit hours.
