The annual reorganization meeting for Lehigh Township will occur 7 p.m. Jan. 6.

The board of supervisors will appoint individuals to serve on the zoning hearing board, planning commission, municipal authority and recreation board.

The group enjoys area walks, hikes and bicycle rides. It also works on projects with the Walnutport Canal Association and the D&L National Heritage Corridor.

Currently, the group is completing a looped path in the woods at Indian Trail Park. The next step is to create labels for native trees, herbaceous plants and the fish found in the creek.

Although the group meets at the municipal building in Lehigh Township, members come from inside and outside the township.

Beginning in February, the group will meet 7 p.m. the third Thursday of each month at 1069 Municipal Road.

Meetings are open to everyone.

There is a walk around Palmerton scheduled for Jan. 10, highlighting the architecture in the town.

Join the group 1 p.m. at the post office, 128 Delaware Ave.

The rain date for the Palmerton walk will be Jan. 11.
