East Allen Township is planning a yard sale 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Oct. 26 at Bicentennial Park, 5405 Liberto Lane, Bethlehem.

Organizers are still in search of vendors. Space is available for a cost.

East Allen Township will hold trick or treat 6-8 p.m. Oct. 25.

Did you, your parents or siblings attend one of the East Allen Township schools? Did you or a relative teach in these schools?

If so, you are invited to a reunion event set for 2-4 p.m. Oct. 27 at the Wolf Academy on the Governor Wolf Historical Society campus, 6600 Jacksonville Road.

The historical society is sponsoring this gathering to give everyone a chance to reminisce and share their memories of the schools, teachers and classmates. Everyone is encouraged to bring photos, schoolbooks, report cards, schoolwork or any other documents they might have for show and tell.

The East Allen Township School District had five schools - Monocacy School on Jacksonville Road (at the Governor Wolf Historical Society site), Knauss School on Route 329 (now the township municipal building), Steinmetz School on Colony Drive, Union School on Route 248 and Oxford (or Snyder) School at St. Peter’s Church.

The last three were one-room schools sold in 1947 and are now residences. After these schools closed, East Allen students in first through sixth grades attended the three-room Monocacy School or the two-room Knauss School.

With consolidation and the establishment of the Northampton Area School District, the last two schools closed about 1962.

There is no cost to attend, and no reservations are required.

Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1335 Old Carriage Road, is planning to hold a trunk or treat 6-8 p.m. Oct. 27.

Decorate your vehicle’s trunk and hand out candy or bring your children to enjoy the event. Refreshments will be served.

Allen Township’s trick-or-treat night is scheduled for 6-8 p.m. Oct. 31.

A variety bingo fundraiser is planned for Nov. 3 at East Allen Township Volunteer Fire Department, 5354 Nor-Bath Blvd. Doors will open 11:30 a.m., and games will begin 1 p.m.

Prizes include items from Pampered Chef, Calvin Klein, Michael Kors, Scentsy, Coach, Kate Spade and Dooney & Bourke. There will be door prizes and raffles.

East Allen Township is running a bus trip Dec. 7 to American Music Theatre, Lancaster. The bus will leave 8 a.m. from Catasauqua High School.

Show time will be 10:30 a.m. Lunch at Shady Maple will follow.

Cost includes transportation, tickets and lunch.
