Bath: Emmanuel’s collecting canned tuna, chicken for food bank

For the rest of September, Emmanuel’s Lutheran Church, 3175 Valley View Drive, is collecting canned tuna and chicken for Bath Area Food Bank. Monetary donations are always gladly accepted as well.

The food bank is no longer accepting Jell-O, pudding or any type of clothing.

Reminder to all that Sept. 27 is the last day Bath Farmers Market will be open for the season.

The market is located at Keystone Park, Green Street and Route 329. Hours are 3-7 p.m.

Christ United Church of Christ, 109 S. Chestnut St., will be holding its fourth annual quilt show 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sept. 28.

There will be quilt raffles and door prizes. You do not need to be present to win.

The kitchen will be open, and light refreshments will be available.

Bath Fire Company Social Club, 135 S. Walnut St., will be having a gun raffle and meat drawing 11:30 a.m. Sept. 28.

There will be a Sip and Shop event 5-6:30 p.m. Sept. 30 at D&S Florist, 107 Chestnut St. The event benefits Lehigh County Humane Society. Ania Masiak Fiduccia will be hosting a ONEHOPE wine tasting.

Dorothy Prokopovich, owner of D&S Florist, will help you find your perfect bouquet for home or business. Vendors will be on hand and include Touchstone Crystal, Pampered Chef, Scentsy, Signature HomeStyles, Mattie’s Strudel Haus, Thirty-One, Lori’s Primitive Country Plus and Eve’s Angels Candles.

Klecknersville Rangers Volunteer Fire Company, 2718 Mountain View Drive, will be holding its annual fall festival 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Oct. 5.

There will be great food, including cabbage and noodles, chicken, walking tacos, hot dogs, hamburgers, clams and homemade Manhattan clam chowder.

Other activities are a Chinese auction starting 7 p.m., barrel train ride, cake walk beginning 3 p.m., hay rides, games and prizes for all ages. There will also be a separate beer area.

Emmanuel’s Lutheran Church will be having its annual blessing of the animals event 4 p.m. Oct. 6. Participants are asked to have their pets on a leash or to bring them in a cage or crate.

This is a community activity that is open to any who would like to have their pets blessed, so invite your neighbors and friends.

Governor Wolf Historical Society, 6600 Jacksonville Road, will hold its next monthly meeting 7 p.m. Oct. 8. The public is welcome.

There will be an Oktoberfest dinner 6:30-9:30 p.m. Oct 10 at Klecknersville Rangers Volunteer Fire Company. The event serves as a fundraiser for the Edelman School restoration.

There will be Bavarian pork roast or bratwurst with sauerkraut, German noodles with beer gravy, mashed potatoes, fried cabbage with bacon and drinks. German chocolate cake or German apple pie is also included.

There will be entertainment by Keith Brintzenhoff.

Emmanuel’s women’s Bible study group will be starting Monday morning meetings 10:30 a.m. Oct. 14 in the fellowship hall. Members will be studying the Book of Psalms.
