Wrestlers get second at Penn Manor
The Parkland wrestling team got its season underway last week with a win in a dual meet and a second-place tournament finish over the weekend.

Parkland competed in the Comet Classic Wrestling Tournament last weekend at Penn Manor High School
The Trojans crowned one champ and had six top-five finishers while taking second place as a team behind Liberty.
The Trojans’ Jahan Worth earned the 285-pound championship with an 8-4 decision over Dallas’ Shawn Henniger in the championship bout.
Parkland’s Brandon Kassis (126) got second place at Penn Manor, falling to Downingtown West’s Doug Zapf in the title match. Zach Ortman (145) and Nick Dolak (132) earned third-place finishes at the tournament, while Kevin Vrablik (160) was fourth and Joey Guida (170) was fifth.
Lucas Kern (120) and Adam Lizak (182) both finished seventh for the Trojans, while Bryan Diaz (113) and Nate Wieder (195) finished eighth.
Eastern Pennsylvania Conference foe Liberty took the team titles with 188 points. Parkland was second with 149 and Downingtown West placed third at 141.

The Trojans opened the wrestling season last week with a 71-6 win over Dieruff.
Parkland used seven pins and three forfeits to rack up bonus points in the match while winning all 10 contested bouts.
The Trojans’ Lucas Kern (120), Brandon Kassis (126), Zach Ortman (145), Louis Sivonda (152), Kevin Vrablik (160), Nate Wieder (220) and Jahan Worth (285) all won by fall against the Huskies.
