Mark your calendar for the 2016 tree lighting at the North Catasauqua Park. This annual holiday event, hosted by the recreation committee, will be held 6 p.m. Nov. 27. Rain date will be Nov. 28.

Residents, nonresidents and former residents are invited to sponsor a lighted snowflake to be displayed along borough streets during the holiday season. A snowflake sponsorship makes a unique gift or can be sponsored in memory or in honor of a deserving person.

A plastic plaque will be attached to a snowflake with the name of the sponsor or honoree.

North Catasauqua We Sing Community Chorus is selling wooden replicas of the Catasauqua Rough Rider Mascot, made by the Cat’s Meow keepsake company.

The item, a 3-3/4-by-4-inch wooden image, is of the mascot with the words “Catasauqua Rough Riders” on the front and the Catasauqua High School alma mater on the back.
